Phase 3-4 Assembly

This morning, we had a brilliant assembly from years 3 & 4 to kick-start our summer season. They told us all about healthy living, including what we ought to eat and ideas for a more active style. Pupils shared which clubs they belong to and the activities they do to keep fit.

Lost Property

The coatpegs outside Mr Browning’s office are getting more congested with lost

Never Lates & Full Attendance
This morning, we had an assembly to present awards for all those pupils who have never been late for school during the spring term. There were 135 children who received certificates for these. There were a further 58 pupils who had had 100% attendance for the spring term (and a number of these have not missed anytime since September) Well done to all these pupils!

Yesterday, Ben, who is a youth coach at Hull Kingston Rovers Rugby, League Club, came to school to take pupils from year 3 & 4 through their paces. With avid Rovers fan, Mr Ingram taking part as well, Ben spent the afternoon practising rugby ball-handling skills. Mr Ingram, who is our PE coordinator remarked that he was surprised how many activities could be undertaken, just based around holding and moving with the ball. There was no passing involved today... that's for next week's session. It was great to see the pupils outside, enjoying both the lovely weather and the expert coaching. They just can't wait for Ben to return next Tuesday!

Don't Forget to Join Us on Twitter
Before Easter, we set up a Twitter Account, which we are regularly adding to, as well as our website and kidblog site.
Please follow us at:
Stepney Primary @OfficialStepney
At the moment, we have 29 people following us, which includes other schools in Hull but we would dearly love more parents and carers to follow us as well. It’s a simple and easy way of showing what we do at Stepney.
NB as with our website and kidblog, we monitor the Twitter account in terms of e-safety and are very careful about the information that goes on. We don't show pupils' faces and only use their first names.

Attendance Figures
At the end of the spring term, our attendance figures were just above the ones we had at the same time last year. We are grateful for the efforts that parents/carers are making to get their children to school. It gives them continuity in the classroom and really helps their learning. Please do your best to get your children to school. Good Attendance and Good Achievement go hand in hand.
Please click here to see the line graph which shows the attendance patterns.
